LOCATION
Blackrock House wasn’t built for the golf course — the course grew around it. Constructed in the 1920s and originally part of a small coastal community known as “Lobster Row,” the property has always been a landmark on this stretch of shoreline.
EVOLVED
As the decades passed, the house changed hands and evolved with the landscape. In the 1970s, it is believed that two local businessmen purchased the property together and divided it into two separate homes. This created the semi-detached structure that exists today.
THE SPLIT
Blackrock House now occupies one of those two original wings. The driveway is shared, as it has been since the split, but the experience inside is entirely private, spacious and self-contained. Guests enjoy full access to their own residence, gardens and living areas throughout their stay.
ICONIC
Rather than detract from its character, this chapter adds to the story of Blackrock — a house shaped by the coastline, the community, and a century of change, all while remaining one of the most recognisable and iconic homes on Royal Troon’s championship links.
